SYRIA: Syriac Catholic Archdiocese of Daramsuq celebrated Saint Joseph’s Day
DARAMSUQ — On Saturday, Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Daramsuq (Damascus) Mor Youhanna Jihad Battah hosted the heads of other Churches in a celebration of Saint Joseph’s Day.
The celebration was attended by Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Syriac Melkite Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, Alexandria and Jerusalem for the Greek Catholic ChurchYoussef al-Absi, Apostolic Nuncio to Syria Mario Zenari, and Catholic, Orthodox and Evangelical clergy from across Daramsuq.
Archbishop Battah congratulated Syriac Catholic Patriarch Youssef III Younan and Patriarch Youssef al-Absi, and all Archbishops and priests bearing the name of Joseph, asking the Lord to bless their service.
Patriarch Younan expressed his sincere thanks to all the attendees, especially Archbishop Battah and Daramsuq Archdiocese, asking the Lord to protect the Church and establish peace in the world.
