BAGHDEDE, Iraq — Nine-year-old Stella Nour, a Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian girl from Baghdede in the Nineveh Plains region of Iraq, achieved great success in the Codeavour International Competition for Artificial Intelligence, placing second among 68,000 participating teams from around the world.

Stella participated in the Smart Tree Project, whose idea revolves around an irrigation system that automatically waters trees when they need water without any human intervention.

Stella said that she is very happy with the achievement and thanked her parents for their continuous encouragement and support.

“I hope to meet the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, as the winners of last year did,” she added.
