Armenian fighters killed by Azerbaijani forces in Nagorno-Karabakh

Azerbaijani forces killed three Armenian fighters and wounded fifteen others in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh Region, according to the Nagorno-Karabakh's authorities. The Armenian authorities accuse Baku of ceasefire violation.

NAGORNO-KARABAKH / YEREVAN — The Armenian Foreign Ministry announced that on Thursday Azerbaijani forces entered the village of Baruch, which is under the control of the Russian peacekeeping forces. The Ministry called this step a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The Ministry of Defense in Nagorno-Karabakh announced that the enemy forces killed three soldiers after they opened fire with weapons and combat drones. “The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is still tense,” the Ministry stated, hoping that the Russian peacekeeping forces will be able to find a solution.

Yerevan warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in Nagorno-Karabakh, after gas supplies were cut off, following maintenance operations. It also accused Baku of deliberately cutting off gas supplies to the Region’s Armenian residents.

The U.S. and France called on the conflicting parties to follow up on the cease-fire, and return to negotiations.
