NETHERLANDS: 22-year-old Syriac Jolanda Bahini chosen as Miss Beauty Overijssel 2022

ENSCHEDE, Netherlands – The 22-year-old Syriac Jolanda Bahini has been chosen as Miss Beauty Overijssel 2022. The contest for the most beautiful women of the Dutch province of Overijssel was held on March 20. Jolanda Bahini was born in the Netherlands, but her father is originally from Aleppo and her mother has her roots in the Syriac city of Beth Zalin (Qamishli) in northeastern Syria. She has finished her studies to become a flight attendant.

In comments to our reporter Teresa Mutlu be Shabo Bahdo, the new Miss Beauty Overijssel stated: “I am very pleased that I was chosen as Miss Beauty Overijssel. I had no intentions to participate but my sister came up with the suggestion. At first, I was a bit shy and hesitant but did it anyway. And now I stand here as Miss Beauty Overijssel.” As a message to all Syriac girls and women, Bahini said; “I hope that more women of our Suryoyo Oromoyo people will dare to represent themselves and not hesitate to develop in the field of their choice. Only in this way can they achieve their wishes and goals.”

Jolanda will participate in the national Miss Beauty final on July 2. If she wins, she will represent the Netherlands at the international final this fall.
