Head of General Directorate of Syriac Study in Iraq visits Armenian Orthodox Archdiocese and Armenian Mixed School in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — Director-General of the General Directorate of Syriac Study in Iraq Imad Salem Jajo visited the Armenian Orthodox Archdiocese and the Armenian Mixed School in Baghdad. He was accompanied by Director of the Syriac Study Department of Rusafa Secondary Education Imad Victor. 

During the visit to the Archdiocese, Jajo met with Armenian Orthodox Archbishop Avak Asadourian and Secretary-General of the Council of Christian Communities in Iraq. They talked about ways of joint cooperation between the Syriac Directorate and the Armenian Archdiocese to develop the educational process.

During the Armenian School visit, Jajo met with the school director Albert Haigaz Julakian and educational staff.

The visits were a part of the annual plan of the General Directorate of Syriac Study to visit religious and educational institutions. The Directorate is also keen to visit schools which teach Syriac reading and Christian religious education to address the schools’ needs.
