On Akitu, Syriac Military Council spokesman Matay Hanna congratulates Syriac people and peoples of North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In comments to SyriacPress, spokesperson for the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Matay Hanna congratulated the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and other peoples in North and East Syria on the coming of Akitu, Babylonian Syriac–Assyrian New Year.

“We congratulate the Syriac people on the national holiday of Akitu, which represents the mosaic of the Syriac people’s civilization, history, language, and culture,” Hanna stated.

He also congratulated all formations affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), including the MFS, People’s Protection Units (YPG), Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Al-Sanadid Forces, and Army of Revolutionaries.

“We would like to congratulate martyrs’ families and our families on this glorious feast, which is deeply engraved in our hearts,” said Hanna. “Akitu gives us more determination to resist the policies that seek to undermine the coexistence among peoples of the region.”
