The Syriac National Council of Syria congratulates all Suryoye on Akitu

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On 1 April, Akitu, the Syriac National Council of Syria (SNCS) issued a statement in which it congratulated the Syriac-Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean people on New Year.

“Akitu calls us to life and prosperity. The Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans) were keen to annually revive this feast, in appreciation of any alliance made between the benevolent forces of the Syriac people to serve their hopes and aspirations for diversity and pluralism,” read the statement.

The statement pointed out that coexistence among the ethnic groups of Syrian society, has added a lot to this glorious day of Akitu. The statement concluded that the Syriac National Council of Syria, headed by Bassam Said Ishak, appreciates the efforts of everyone who is keen to create a safe and just future for Syria.
