Director-General of Syriac Study in Iraq participate in annual Sports Festival of Baghdede Education Directorate
BAGHDEDE, Iraq — The Baghdede Education Directorate of Nineveh Governorate held the annual Sports Festival, with the support of Humanitarian Nineveh Relief Organization (HNRO).
Director-General of the Syriac Study in Iraq Imad Salem Jajo, representing the Ministry of Education, and Director-General of Nineveh Education Abdul Rahman al-Dabbagh attended the event, in addition to directors from Nineveh Education and official departments in Baghdede and Bartella.
The festival included a parade of the participating schools, sports activities, including races, wide skipping, high jumping, weight throwing, among other events.
Artistic activities were also included in the festival. Paintings were on display and musical pieces and folk dances performed.
The festival witnessed wide participation of Syriac schools who teach the Syriac language and Christian religious education.
Prizes were given to the winning schools.
