German operative of Ahrar al-Sham arrested in Germany
KARLSRUHE, Germany — German media outlets citing the federal prosecutor of Karlsruhe, Germany, reported that investigators had arrested a German citizen accused of belonging to extremist organization Ahrar al-Sham.
The reports pointed out that the German citizen traveled to Syria four times between 2012 and 2014 to fight in the ranks of Ahrar al-Sham and other extremist groups.
On Tuesday afternoon, the man went before the investigative judge at the Federal Court of Justice.
