Murders of Syriac youths increase in Sweden

SÖDERTALJE, Sweden — In the past few months, murders in Sweden have increased to record breaking levels, with criminal gang activity rising across Sweden’s population centers, according to Swedish media outlets.

Last Sunday, 21-year-old Syriac Matthias Tamer was murdered in Södertälje, Sweden.

Tamer was murdered during a visit to a cemetery where he was praying at the tomb of his brother who was killed by members of a criminal gang six years ago.

Tamer’s sister, Eleanor, told the media that her two brothers — Matthias and Adai — and two uncles — Jacob and Mousa — had all been murdered by criminal gangs.

“My brother Matthias will not be the last victim,” said Eleanor. “Matthias was an ambitious youth who dreamed of a brilliant future. He wanted to complete his studies next summer, but he lost his life.”

Media outlets reported that the gunshots were heard around 7:00 p.m.. Matthias’s body was discovered the next morning with a bullet in his head.

During their search for Matthias, who had been reported missing, Swedish police used dogs and drones but they were unable to determine his whereabouts.

The next morning, a resident of the area called the security and told them that a dead man was found in his garden.

An investigation into Matthias’s murder is ongoing.
