Syriac Catholic Patriarch Younan visits Dominican Sisters in Baghdede
BAGHDEDE, Iraq — During his tour of Iraq, Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mor Ignatius Joseph III Younan visited the Dominican nuns of the Monastery of Our Lady of the Martyrs and the Al-Tahira Private School in Baghdede where he learned about the work and activities they do and prayed for their success.
He was received by General Superior of the Dominican Sisters Mother Clara Nasi, Director of the Al-Tahira School Sister Huda Chito, members of the administrative and educational staff, and students who welcomed the Patriarch with songs and chants.
In his speech, the Patriarch Younan expressed his happiness at the opportunity to visit, thanking the administrative and educational staff who provide a good education for students so that they are fruitful and good according to the will of the Lord.
The Patriarch also visited the Convent of Our Lady of the Martyrs for the Dominican Nuns of St. Catherine of Siena in Baghdede and was received by a number of priests, monks, and nuns from various religious orders.
Patriarch Younan held a prayer of thanksgiving in the monastery church and offered a blessing to the nuns. He was given a review of the most prominent activities carried out by the nuns and praised their service and prayed for their success.
