KHABUR REGION, Syria – Turkish forces and their proxy factions continue to target the Suraye villages of the Khabur Valley in North and East Syria.
Today, Turkish troops bombarded the village of Tel Tawil with artillery and rocket grenades. This resulted in the injury of two Suraye and significant material damage to homes and property.
Village guard Raymon Odisho had to have a leg amputated after being injured as a result of the bombing. Official Robert Isho of the Internal Security Forces (Nature in Syriac) was injured.
Attempts to make the Khabur Region a separate canton for the Suraye people have so far been unsuccessful.
