USUP’s Ibrahim Murad delivers message to Syriac-Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian people and Christians of the world for Easter and Palm Sunday
BEIRUT – Ibrahim Murad, the head of the Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon, congratulated the Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian-Chaldean) people and the Christians of the world on the advent of Easter and Palm Sunday. He also called on the honorable Lebanese to cast their votes during the elections, and not to succumb to Iran, its militias, and its allies.
Murad published a post on his Facebook page in which he congratulated our Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people and the Christians of the world on the advent of Easter, according to the Western (Gregorian) calendar, and Palm Sunday, according to the eastern (Julian) calendar, expressing his hope that the feast will bring resurrection and salvation for the Lebanese people who are suffering from a series of suffocating crises.
In parallel, Murad published a leaflet that included excerpts from the sermon of Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Beshara Boutros al-Raï, who said that if the people realized the danger of the current situation in Lebanon, they would choose the forces capable of defending Lebanon’s entity and identity, in loyalty to the martyrs of the Lebanese cause, and that this same people, and not the political system, bear the responsibility for the great collapse.
He added that Lebanon needs a national, sovereign, independent, and militant parliamentary majority that believes in the sanctity of the nation and in the legitimate state and constitutional institutions, and that the army is the only reference for arms and security.
Murad addressed the Lebanese people to vote during the upcoming parliamentary elections, saying that “if you are indeed a Christian, the Patriarch al-Raï calls on you not to sell your vote and to remain without dignity for the allies of Iran’s militia, from the left-wing and nationalist Syrian movement and the sons of feudal civil society who consider you their slave, as His Beatitude calls you to pay homage to the martyrs of the Christian resistance.”
