Meeting on potential unity between Assyrian Church of the East and Ancient Church of the East
CHICAGO, U.S. — The unity of the Eastern Churches is once again being discussed. Some media outlets and websites, quoting the Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mor Awa III Royel, reported that a meeting will be held on 9 May 2022 to discuss the unification of the Churches.
Patriarch Royel stated that the meeting will be held in Chicago, U.S., and will aim to solve the dilemmas between the two Churches and unify them.
The patriarchal representative of the Ancient Church of the East Mor Yako Daniel stated via Facebook that they will meet with the Assyrian Church of the East to discuss the unification of the Churches and called for prayers to restore the glory of the Church.
