Iran recruits Syrians to fight in Yemen
DARAMSUQ — The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) opened recruitment offices in the city of Albukamal, east of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor).
The offices register the names of Syrian youth to be transferred later to Iran to join training courses under the supervision of the Quds Force. They will then be sent to fight in Yemen alongside the Houthis with a salary of $1,200 and contracts of up to three years.
Sources indicated that 48 youths have so far registered in the offices. The first recruited group is intended to include 200 fighters.
In other news, the U.S.-led International Coalition announced that four U.S. fighters were wounded as a result of an indirect fire attack on the Green Village in Syria last week.
Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense John Kirby stated that the U.S. forces stationed at the base were injured after explosives were placed in their facility.
Kirby denied earlier reports that the facility had been subjected to rocket fire and did not mention who was responsible for the attack.
