Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria consider Turkey’s escalation in region a blow to stability

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Internal Security Forces (ISF) of North and East Syria revealed that a car in Kobane and a house in Zalin (Qamishli) were targeted by Turkish drone strikes.

The Media Center of the ISF issued a statement regarding the Turkish attacks, “The Turkish occupation is escalating its targeting of our various regions, in a permanent attempt to disrupt stability, spread chaos, and force civilians to leave their homes.”

The statement indicated that the Turkish occupation used a drone to target a center for public relations in Zalin on Wednesday afternoon, injuring two of the office employees.

A second Turkish drone strike occurred on Wednesday near the city of Kobane, injuring the driver of a car in the countryside on the road between the villages of Idaq and Takhta.

Abd al-Salam Ahmed, representative of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria in Lebanon, stressed that the Turkish occupation’s endeavor is to strike against the stability of the region for its own gain.

“The Turkish attacks on the regions of North and East Syria come within the framework of fighting and uprooting the region’s peoples,” said Ahmed. “The hostility of the Turkish occupation state to our people is well-known and they do not accept that [the people of North and East Syria] have a political administration.”

“The Autonomous Administration community in Lebanon will stage a sit-in on Friday in front of the United Nations building to condemn the attacks of the Turkish occupation on our regions and people, and calls on the international community to assume its responsibility to stop the Turkish attacks on our people, which are classified as war crimes against humanity,” he added.
