Syriac Maronite Patriarch al-Rai meets with Syriac Catholic Patriarch Younan and General Michel Suleiman
BETH KERKE, Lebanon — On a congratulatory visit on the occasion of Easter, Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mor Ignatius Joseph III Younan went to meet with Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rai on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Maronite Patriarchal See in Beth Kerke (Bkerke), Lebanon.
During the meeting, the two patriarchs exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Easter, wishing each other success in serving the spiritual message they carry. They also discussed the situation of Christians in Lebanon and the Middle East, in addition to the crises, challenges, and difficult decisions facing the Christian peoples in Lebanon.
The discussion also covered joint Church affairs, as well as the most prominent works and activities that they will undertake during the coming period.
Later, Patriarch al-Rai received General Michel Sleiman, former President of the Republic of Lebanon, and reviewed with him the general situation in Lebanon and the plans to save it from collapse, as well as the preparations for the upcoming elections and the ongoing preparations to receive Pope Francis during his upcoming visit to Lebanon.
Patriarch al-Rai also received MP Hadi Hobeish and discussed with him several local and regional issues.
