Syriac institutions participate in Easter celebrations in Qabre Hewore, North and East Syria

QABRE HEWORE, Syria — An Easter day Divine Liturgy was held at the Syriac Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qantaniyah), North and East Syria. It was attended by a delegation from the Syriac Union Party (SUP), representatives of the Syriac institutions, officials of the Public Relations Office of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS), and members of the local congregation.

The celebrations were secured by the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) which are a part of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) of North and East Syria.

After the Holy Liturgy, the delegation offered Easter congratulations to the Church’s Local Council and the local Sutoro center.

The delegation commended the efforts of the Sutoro to secure events organized by the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community, especially during religious holidays, because they make double efforts to protect citizens from any terrorist attacks.
