SWEDEN: Syriac churches in Norrköping hold joint prayer in memory of the Sayfo martyrs. Assyriska FF and Syrianska FC call for official recognition of Sayfo

NORRKÖPING, Sweden – On April 24, Armenian Genocide Memorial Day, four Syriac Orthodox churches held a congregational prayer in front of the Sayfo memorial in remembrance of the Martyrs of the genocide. After the prayers, the priests and church officials present gave speeches on the importance of remembering the martyrs of the genocide.

In related news – Assyriska FF and Syrianska FC in their head-to-head competition (won by Assyriska FF) paid tribute to the Martyrs of the Genocide and called for official recognition of the Sayfo Genocide of 1915 by the Swedish government. After entering the field, the players of both teams held up a cloth that read “When will the [Swedish] government recognize the Sayfo of 1915.”
