United States: “ISIS Beatle” sentenced to life for murders in Syria

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Three years after being arrested by the Syrian Democratic Forces of North and East Syria, and handed over to the U.S., member of the Islamic State terrorist group “ISIS Beatles“, Alexanda Kotey (38) was sentenced to life imprisonment by a U.S. federal court. Kotey last September confessed to the killing of four U.S. hostages in Syria, and kidnapping and torturing about 20 others from western countries.

Last April, another ISIS Beatle member of the group, al-Shafi’i Elsheikh, was convicted but his sentence will be determined next summer. He also appeared at the sentencing, at the Alexandria Court in Washington, D.C., where relatives of the victims were able to testify for the last time.
