Hikmat Habib: New social contract will benefit all inhabitants of the Democratic Autonomous Administration politically, economically, and culturally

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA The Co-Chair of the Legislative Council of the Gozarto (Jazira) Region and member of the Small Drafting Committee of the new Social Contract in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hikmat Habib, emphasized in an interview with ANHA that the new social contract will increase direct political say and diminish several economic, cultural and political challenges. Most notably it will reduce bureaucracy, he told ANHA.

Habib pointed out that the new social contract provides for a more integrated economy and the lessening of rules to stimulate private investment. The new laws and rules come from the many ideas that were collected from the multiple and high-participation meetings of the Drafting Committee of the Social Contract. He compared the popular gatherings to a popular poll.

The social contract takes into account the region’s cultural, national and religious diversity. It is cohesive and inclusive from the economic, living and educational perspective and takes into account all components by granting them full rights to education in their mother tongue and the holding of their cultural and religious holidays and festivals.
