‘Hrant Dink: Here and Now’ exhibition on murdered Agos Editor-in Chief opens in Yerevan
YEREVAN – The Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art in Yerevan has opened the exhibition ‘Hrant Dink: Here and Now.’ The exhibition, organized by the Hrant Dink Foundation, guides the visitor through the life of the former editor-in-chief of the Armenian newspaper Agos and narrates his struggle for democracy, human rights and justice.
Because of the articles in Agos newspaper, Dink was a target of violent reactions, especially from ultra-nationalist Turkish circles.
Dink was assassinated in Istanbul in front of his newspaper’s office on January 19, 2007. In March 2022, Turkish authorities transferred a suspect from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey. The man was wanted for having hidden the gun used in the assassination of Hrant Dink, having lent money to the perpetrator of the murder and had his cell phone used as a means of communication in the assassination. The man is now in Turkish custody.
The exhibition ‘Hrant Dink: Here and Now’ can be visited until July 30.
