Welcome home Afram! Syriac bodybuilding champion Afram Issa returns to Beth Zalin and reopens fitness club

BETH ZALIN, North and East Syria — After having lived in Sweden for several years, the former bodybuilding champion Afram Issa decided to return to his hometown of Zalin (Qamishli) and reopen his fitness club. Issa opened his Alex Gym on Friday after months of renovation.

The opening was attended by Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of the Gozarto (Jazirah) and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih, priests, members of the local church council, family and friends.

In an interview with Suroyo TV, an affiliate of SyriacPress, Issa stated that restoration work included the modernization of sports equipment, a restaurant and a competition hall. He added that his unisex Alex Gym will receive members from May 8.

Afram Issa thanked Suroyo TV for covering the official opening and for its work for the Syriac people.
