LEBANON— After announcing that his party won the largest bloc in Lebanon’s Parliament, the Leader of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea, said that the results of the parliamentary elections were resounding after the loss of Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement of the Parliamentary Majority.
He said that his party has received more than 200,000 votes. And that the recent elections included ironies such as; many of the symbols of the Syrian regime and Hezbollah had been eliminated, in addition to the departure of the Syrian Nationalist Party and the Baath Party from the parliament.
Geagea spoke of the conditions that must be available in the President and Vice-President of the House of Representatives, saying that he should pledge that foreign policy and the strategic decision of war and peace should be in the hands of the Lebanese government only, and everyone must adhere to it, confirming that a coordination will be done with all change forces for the election of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Speaker has to reflect the majority of parliamentarians, but the current President Nabih Berri does not have the qualities mentioned, therefore, we will not vote for him, and the same applies to the Vice-President.
