The Syriac Military Council in North and East Syria confirms its readiness to repel any new Turkish attacks in the region

TAL TAMR, Syria — Spokesman for the Syriac Military Council (Mawthbo Folhoyo Suryoyo, MFSMatay Hanna declared that the international powers acting in Syria did not give approval for the potential Turkish military operation in North and East Syria.

Thus, Turkey and its proxies launched intense attacks with heavy artillery on civilians, infrastructure, service and security institutions, especially in the villages of the Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people in Tal Tamr in North and East Syria.

“The Turkish attacks are taking place due to Turkey’s failure to achieve gains on the ground, its failure to exploit the Russian war in Ukraine and the U.S. disapproval to launch any attack on the Syrian territory,” Hanna stated.

Hanna touched on the recent blatant Turkish attack on the Suraye village of Tal Tawil in Tal Tamer, saying that the attack caused serious material damage village’s Mor Sawa (Mor Osyo, Al-Hakim) Church.

“For protecting the Tal Tamer and Khabur Valley, the MFS and the active military councils in the region took all security and military measures to confront any possible Turkish attack,” he added, indicating that the Turkish threats coincided with movements of the Islamic State (ISIS) in the region, especially in Al-Hol Camp, and this is considered evidence about Turkey’s involvement in supporting terrorism in our regions.

The Mor Sawa (Mor Osyo, Al-Hakim) Church in Tal Tawil village is the fifth church that was targeted by the Turkish attacks. It was violently and deliberately bombed.
