Bethnahrin Patriotic Union in Iraq issued a statement on the 26th anniversary of its founding

ANKAWA / NINEVEH PLAINS, Iraq — The Bethnahrin Patriotic Union in Iraq (Huyodo d-Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) issued a statement on the 26th anniversary of its founding.

“Since the beginning of the modern Iraqi state in 1920, the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people have been engaged in the service of the homeland. The political parties of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people have formed a political opposition power and engaged with the people of the homeland against dictatorship,” read the statement.

In its statement, the HBA reiterated its call for unification of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people to obtain their rights and stand in the face of those who used their division to persecute them.

The HBA called for unification of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people to have an important role in establishing the three authorities and modern Iraqi state, that guarantees the rights of all ethnic groups in Iraq, including the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.

At the national level, the HBA statement called on all political parties and blocs to prioritize the interests of Iraq and the Iraqi people to have a bright history and future.

“We congratulate all HBA members. In respect to the blood of our righteous martyrs, we pledge to follow the path of national, patriotic and human struggle with the same mentality and approach,” the statement concluded.
