Representatives of the Syriac-Assyrian political parties discuss the situation of the Khabur Valley in Tal Tamr in North and East Syria
KHABUR REGION, Syria — With the aim of discussing the latest developments and their impact on the Syriacs (Arameans-Chaldeans-Assyrians), the Coordination and Consultation Committee of their national parties in Syria met, at the headquarters of the Assyrian Democratic Party (ADP) in Tal Tamr in North and East Syria.
The meeting was attended by member of the General Council of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria Simon Daoud, member of the SUP Executive Body Gabriel Shamoun, official of the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) in Hasakah and Khabur Nabil Oshana, head of the ADP office in Tal Tamr Shimon Kako and ADP member Shlemon Barshim.
The meeting was also attended by leaders of military and security forces, including: spokesman for the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Matay Hanna, member of the General Command of the Sutoro Forces Harout Judi, official of the Nattoreh forces Robert Isho, and official of the Assyrian Khabur Guards Council Nabil Warda.
During the meeting, discussions and consultations took place about the problems and recent attacks that targeted the Khabur Valley. The importance of communication and coordination between the political parties of the Syriac people were also touched on.
The representatives of the three parties stressed the necessity of activating the previous decision of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of North and East Syria, about handing over the security and military tasks of the Khabur and Tal Tamr regions to the military institutions of the Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people.
