Verdict against murderer of Coptic priest issued by Egyptian court

ALEXANDRIA, Egypt — Two months ago, Egyptian Coptic Priest Arsanious Wadid was stabbed to death on the Cornice of Alexandria, Egypt.

After several judicial sessions, the Alexandria Criminal Court ruled on Saturday to execute the murderer of Father Nehro Tawfiq.

According to the Associated Press, the court convicted the 60-year-old man of murdering the priest and illegal possession of a cold weapon.

The Coptic Orthodox minority are believed to be among the world’s oldest Christian communities.

Religious pages on social media reported that the priest was killed while walking with his family on the Corniche of Alexandria.
