Syriac Progressive Youth Union organizes Open Football League in Qabre Hewore in North and East Syria
QABRE HEWORE, Syria — The Syriac Progressive Youth Union organized an Open Football League, named after Comrade Said Malke, in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahntaniyah) in North and East Syria.
In comments to Suroyo TV, official of the Babylon Team of the Syriac Progressive Youth Union, Nahir Moro, stated that the league inauguration began with a minute of silence for the souls of martyrs. As a part of the opening, the Al-Nuhasiya Scout Troupe in Qabre Hewore performed.
Moro added that the opening match took place between the Babylon and Al-Wahda teams and ended with a victory by Babylon.
Moro thanked the preparatory committee that organized the league’s work and match schedule. He also thanked the Local Council of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Qabre Hewore for facilitating the league and Suroyo TV for covering the event.
