Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Gozarto and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih sponsored in clans’ reconciliation in Hasakah in North and East Syria
HASAKAH, Syria — To fight sedition and restore good relations that bind peoples in Hasakah, North and East Syria, Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih sponsored a reconciliation event between several clans in the area.
Priests of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Islamic clergymen, and sheikhs and dignitaries from Arab clans in Hasakah were in attendance.
The reconciliation took place at the headquarters of the Syriac Orthodox Diocese of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates in Hasakah.
After sessions and discussions with elders of the clans, reconciliation and forgiveness took place between the parties of past conflicts.
Archbishop Amsih, the dignitaries, and all the attendees stressed the need to maintain good relations and help peace prevail between all the social and religious affiliations in North and East Syria.
