Chaldean Diocese of Erbil, Iraq, ordains new priest
ERBIL, Iraq — Evangelist Deacon San Hikmat Kaka was ordained as a priest by the Archbishop Mor Bashar Matti Warda of the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil.
The ordination took place during a Divine Liturgy held in the Chaldean St. Joseph Cathedral in Ankawa District in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).
A number of archbishops, including Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mosul, Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk), and the KRI Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, in addition to priests, deacons, nuns, and a large group of believers.
The event began with the priestly ordination, followed by a Divine Liturgy. It was concluded with the newly-ordained priest, who thanked everyone who accompanied him on his journey, and pledged to be faithful to the Church of the Lord.
