BEIRUT, Lebanon – In a TV interview on the “Beirut El Yawm” MTV program with the journalist Fadi Shahwan, president of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon Ibrahim Mrad affirmed continued struggle against the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in Lebanon.
Mrad’s statement touched on the political situation in Lebanon and the current developments after the parliamentary elections. He also discussed the necessary steps to save Lebanon from collapse and control of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah.
“President Michel Aoun’s ruling was devastating for Lebanon. With the victory of the Lebanese Forces Party, we must prepare for the presidential elections, in which Dr. Samir Geagea deserves to win,” Mrad stated, indicating that federalism is the best solution for Lebanon to guarantee the development of the political system.
“The struggle against the pro-Iranian Hezbollah will continue,” said Mrad, noting that the chaos that Iran has spread in the region has ended, and Iran will not be allowed to impose its conditions on the international powers.
Regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement, Mrad considered that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, since this would pose a danger and increase the possibility of a global nuclear war.
