Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria release Syriac-Assyrian woman Rasha Shamoun after questioning
DAYRIK, Syria — Over a week after she was arrested by the Internal Security Forces (ISF) of North and East Syria, Syriac-Assyrian woman Rasha Shamoun from Dayrik (Al-Malikiyah) in Gozarto (Jazira) Region.
According to the ISF, Shamoun was released after a security investigation following a complaint submitted against her nearly three years ago.
Since her arrest, the Syriac Union Party (SUP) and Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) advocated for her release, coordinating with the ISF and her family.
On 10 July, following questioning, Shamoun was released and returned safely to her family.
