Syriac Maronite Patriarch al-Rai received former Lebanese MP Gebran Tawq and his son MP William Tawq
DIMANE, Lebanon — Former Lebanese MP Gebran Tawq and his son MP William Tawq visited Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rai in Dimane.
MP Tawq stated that he listened to the Patriarch’s views and recommendations about local affairs in the Bcharre region and the homeland generally.
According to the patriarchal website, MP Tawq briefed the Patriarch about their work in the parliamentary committees related to the economic situation in the country, as well as the role and responsibilities of the Ministry of Public Works.
MP Tawq informed Patriarch al-Rai of his work at the local level which was conducted in a spirit of cooperation and openness to other forces and political parties in hope to achieve urgent developments to revive the economy and ensure the Syriac people remain in their homeland.
They also discussed the importance of continuous coordination with the various ecclesiastical institutions concerned with social and development service affairs.
