Syriac Military Council: We will deter any Turkish attacks on Khabur Valley in North and East Syria

TAL TAMR, Syria — In an interview with Hawar News Agency, spokesman of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Matay Hanna confirmed the MFS readiness to confront the Turkish attacks.

He declared that the Turkish escalation against North and East Syria, that aims to control new Syrian territory, was met with great preparations by the people of the region, the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with all their military formations, in a clear insistence on defending the Syrian territory.

“Turkey sought demographic change by emptying the region of its indigenous people, reviving the Islamic State (ISIS) and establishing a black belt to protect and support terrorism,” said Hanna, referring to the Turkish goal.

Hanna announced the MFS readiness to deter any Turkish threats and attacks against the Khabur Valley, in addition to participating with the SDF to defend North and East Syria.

He noted that all the Syrian people must defend Syrian lands, and the MFS will prevent any new violations against the Syriac people.

Regarding the escalating Turkish attacks, Hanna stressed that the MFS resistance will be stronger and different this time.
