Chaldean Patriarch Sako: Houses of Christians in Mosul and Nineveh Plains still illegally occupied
BAGHDAD — On the anniversary of the Islamic State’s (ISIS) invasion and occupation of Nineveh Plains and Mosul, Iraq, Chaldean Catholic Patriarch Mor Louis Rafael I Sako released a statement entitled “What are Christians Waiting for on the Eighth Anniversary of the Tragedy of Their Displacement?”
In his statement, Patriarch Sako pointed out that there are still a number of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian homes being illegally occupied and the violation of rights, humiliation, and economic exclusion continue. When these issues are reviewed by government officials and politicians, the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people receive only promises that go unfulfilled.
