Vice President of Bethnahrin Patriotic Union Joseph Sliwa: We share some of the Sadrist Movement demands in Iraq
BAGHDAD — During an interview with a political program on Iraqi Samarra TV, Vice President of the Bethnahrin Patriotic Union (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) Joseph Sliwa spoke about the demands that were raised during the Firdos Square demonstrations in Baghdad.
He stated that civil society groups’ demands converge with the majority of the Sadrist Movement’s demands raised during the demonstrations, “but this does not mean that civil forces are part of the Sadrist’s project or under its umbrella.”
He stressed the shared demands included avoiding any clashes between the security forces and the demonstrators and preserving the blood of Iraqi people and state institutions.
In contrast, Sliwa added that they do not agree with the demands of the Coordination Framework.
