Lecture on common mistakes in Syriac and Arabic held in Ankawa, Iraq

ANKAWA, Iraq — The Syriac Writers and Authors Union in Iraq, in cooperation with the Academic Social Center in Ankawa, held a linguistic lecture by the writer and journalist Shlemon Daoud Oraha, under the title “Common Mistakes in Syriac and Arabic. ”

Shlemon presented some common mistakes in Syriac and Arabic, and clarified their correctness. He also stressed the need for writers, intellectuals and journalists to pay attention and avoid such mistakes in their writings and articles.

He pointed out that intellectuals and journalists enrich the language, but they must use the accurate words and correct the mistakes.

President of the Union Rand Bulos stressed the need of inaugurating a Syriac Language Academy to be a basic reference for all.
