Deputy Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration Gabriel Shamoun calls for ending the ongoing Turkish aggression against North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Deputy Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria Gabriel Shamoun stated that the continuous Turkish violations against North and East Syria are unacceptable, and the international community must take a clear stance to end them.

Shamoun denounced the international silence regarding the Turkish attacks that target defenseless civilians.

With regard to the meetings held between Iran and Turkey in Tehran and the recent Sochi meeting between Turkey and Russia, Shamoun indicated that Turkey was not given an approval for any land invasion against North and East Syria, but there is a tacit approval to strike the region by air, since Turkey seeks to strike the DAA project.

Shamoun referred to the DAA relentless diplomatic efforts to communicate with the great powers about the situation in North and East Syria.

“The DAA faces great difficulties due to the intersection of strategic interests between the regional countries and the great powers with Turkey,” he concluded.
