First edition of Syriac Banipal magazine published in over ten years 

ANKAWA, Iraq — After a ten-year hiatus, a new issue, number 46, of Syriac Banipal quarterly magazine was published in Iraq by the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts. The magazine focuses on the intellectual and literary achievements of researchers and academics interested in Syriac culture and history.

The magazine’s return has received praise across Iraq’s cultural communities. People remain interested in the cultural affairs, persons, and institutions of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people.

Cultural figures across Iraq offered blessings and congratulations on the magazine’s return, expressing their appreciation for this distinguished cultural achievement.

Among the well-wishers were Minister of Youth and Culture of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Mohammad Said Ali, Syriac writer Boutros Nabati, writer and historian Ibrahim al-Allaf, and Dr. Amer al-Jumaili, a professor at the College of Archeology at Mosul University.

Issue 46 of Syriac Banipal included a special profile on the late Syriac poet Zuhair Barada and his most prominent achievements.
