President of Universal Syriac Union Party Mrad urges Christian leaders in Lebanon to interact with their communities

BEIRUT — President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) Ibrahim Mrad called on Christian leaders to unite their ranks to preserve the free Christian presence in Lebanon.

“Break the shackles of fear, political calculations, and the knot of the past,” Mrad said, addressing the Christian leaders. “Your supporters and your Christian community, from their conscience, mind and heart, support the establishment of a federal system in Lebanon to guarantee a free and effective survival and to preserve the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs.”

“Stop losing opportunities, stop rosy dreams that have gone and will not come back,” he continued. “The Muslim partner is waiting for your decision to proceed. Go ahead and interact with the popular bases and be where others did not and will not dare.”
