NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — As part of his visit to North and East Syria, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Commander of U.S. Central Command Nikolas Granger stressed the importance of the participation of all Syrian parties in resolving the Syrian crisis. He noted that the US looks positively at the Syrian-Syrian dialogues and supports them, according to the official website of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC).

Granger’s comments came during a meeting with Co-Chair of the SDC Executive Committee Ilham Ahmed to review the current political situation in Syria.

Granger and Ahmed discussed the political situation in Syria in general and in North and East Syria in particular, as well as ways to enhance cooperation at the political level.

Granger renewed the US’s commitment to support the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in combating terrorism and supporting stability in the region to create an appropriate ground for investment, which would help prevent the revival of the Islamic State (ISIS).
