Second day of Mardutho Festival held in Zalin, North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — On Sunday, the second day of the Mardutho Festival was held in Al-Salam Hall in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.

The agenda started with performances of the Scout Troupe of the Syriac Cultural Association. Then, Syriac songs were presented by choirs of the Elias Hanna Heritage Foundation and the Tuma Nahroyo House of Syriac Culture and Art.

The Elias Hanna Folkloric Troupe then performed several folk dances, followed by a solo violin performance by the artist Harution Madarjian.

A play embodying Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) heritage and childhood games was presented.

The Inana Folklore Troupe also presented a folkloric performance.

At the end of the day’s events, poems of the late Syriac poet and writer Malfono Hanna Hanna were read by Milad Gorgis and a show was presented about Hanna’s life and work in service of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.
