Nazira Goreya meets with officials of Austrian Foreign Ministry in Vienna

VIENNA — Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) Nazira Goreya and a member of the foreign relations body of the European Syriac Union (ESU) met with officials of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna. The two sides discussed support for the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in North and East Syria and the wider Middle East.

In comments made to Suroyo TV, Goreya said that, “of course, during our meeting with officials, we raised the issue and demands of our people, in addition to how to  support the [Democratic Autonomous Administration] of North and East Syria and the people of the region.”

She added that they also discussed how to strengthen the political struggle of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in the pursuit of their rights.

Goreya concluded that the meetings were generally positive and the two sides agreed to continue joint political relations.

Member of the ESU’s foreign relations body Leila Athro said that the meetings were positive, as the Austrian side took the initiative to help the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people, the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria, and developing joint relations.
