Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II receives Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mor Awa III Royel in Erbil
ERBIL, Iraq — Following his visit to Mosul and Nineveh Plains in Iraq, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mor Awa III Royel and Archbishops of the Assyrian Church of the East at the headquarters of the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese of Mosul, Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk), and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) in Erbil.
The meeting was also attended by Archbishop of the KRI and its Dependencies Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Patriarchal-Vicariate of Zahle & Beqa’a in Lebanon Mor Justinos Paulos Yousef Safar, Archbishop of Mor Matti Monastery Mor Timotheos Musa al-Shamani, and Patriarchal Secretary and Director of the Information Department Mar Youssef Bali.
Minister of Transport and Communications in the KRI Ano Abdoka also visited Mor Ignatius Aphrem II.
The Syriac Orthodox Patriarch was also received by Syriac Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil Mor Bashar Matti Warda.
