Syriac Cultural Association in Syria organizes educational camp for its members

HASAKAH, Syria — With the aim of developing its members and folk, scouts, and music troupes, the Syriac Cultural Association in Syria organized a two-day camp in Tal Wardiyat, in the countryside of Hasakah, North and East Syria.

In comments to Suroyo TV, head of the Naum Faeq House for Culture and Art Meltha Youssef stated that the Association organized the camp for its branches in Zalin (Qamishli), Hasakah, and Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahtaniyah).

She added that the camp included lessons on education, self-development, and personal empowerment, in addition to the history of scouts around the world, its establishment, role, and duties.

Youssef added that the camp included an introduction to Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) folk traditions, including the dabke dance and its symbols, in addition to the first known Syriac song and its history. The camp also included recreational activities.

Youssef declared that the Association intends to organize more such camps in the future.
