Another Syriac murdered in Södertälje, Sweden
SÖDERTALJE, Sweden — News circulated over the weekend about the murder of another Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) in Sweden.
As crimes continue to occur almost daily in Södertälje, Sweden, more Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) have become victims.
Recently, Enkido (Enki) Özmen (40), son of member of Suroyo TV, hawro Denho bar-Mourad Özmen, was killed. The son of Denho and Gunnar Özmen, Enkido was born in 1980 into a patriotic family.
He was shot in the open street on Saturday evening by someone suspected to be a gang member.
Hawro Denho Özmen has spent most of his life working for the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) cause.
After the opening of Suroyo TV, Hawro Denho worked as a presenter of various programs, including Dore u Yamotho that program which highlighted the culture and life of individual Syriac (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans) villages, cities, and regions. Denho bar-Mourad Özmen currently presents the interview and debate program “Orucutho” every Friday on Suroyo TV.
He had been arrested while in pursuit of the Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian–Chaldean) cause. Hawro Denho started his work in the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) in the 1980s.
The administration of Suroyo TV called on the institutions, Churches, and political parties of the Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian–Chaldean) people to do everything in their power to prevent these killings and condemned them for their silence as Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian–Chaldean) youth like Enki Özmen are murdered.
Suroyo TV extended its deepest condolences to the Özmen family, Murad family, hawro Denho Özmen and his wife Gunnar, and asked God to have mercy on Enki Özmen’s soul.
