President of Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon Ibrahim Mrad calls on Christians in Lebanon to resist and not surrender

BEIRUT —  The Christians in Lebanon are facing attempts to obliterate their identity, cancel their active role in the renaissance of Lebanon, and deny their sacrifices for Lebanon’s freedom, said President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) Ibrahim Mrad. 

Iranian-backed Hezbollah is trying to push the Christians of Lebanon aside and drag Lebanon into conflicts that would deepen the political and economic crisis in the country, he added.

Mrad called on the Christians of Lebanon to resist and defend their land and churches, saying that preserving the ancestral heritage is a sacred duty, as this land is the land of saints and crosses that are planted on the tops of our mountains and embedded in the rocks of our valleys.

“It is unacceptable to give up, discourage, and stop resistance and steadfastness,” Mrad stated.

He called for resistance, stressing that resistance is the pride of free peoples.
