The 18th anniversary of founding Suroyo TV celebrated in Baghdede, Iraq

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — For the first time since its establishment, Suroyo TV celebrates 18th anniversary of its founding, in the ancestral land of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia), Baghdede, Nineveh Plain, Iraq.

On7th October, the Gala 2022 was held in the presence of institutions of Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), in addition to clergymen and about 700 Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.

The celebration began with songs of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian heritage, by Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian artists.

After that, Director of Suroyo TV hawro Yacoub Mirza delivered a speech, in which he spoke about the establishment of Suroyo TV and its continuous role to serve the Syriac people, their institutions and national unity. He also spoke about the importance of holding the event in the land of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia).

President of the Bethnahrain Patriotic Union (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) Yusuf Yaqoub Matti delivered a speech, in which he pointed out the importance of the Syriac media in strengthening the unity of the Syriac people and conveying their voice to the whole world.

Then, a congratulatory telegram was read in the name of Bethnahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB).

“Suroyo TV has become a luminous platform to the world. It linked all the Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people at the homeland and diaspora, and proved the necessity of adhering to the land of our ancestors and national unity,” read the telegram.

The MUB added that commemorating this anniversary provides strength and hope to the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people to achieve their freedom and national unity.

The MUB sent its warmest congratulations to Suroyo TV and Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people. It also thanked all political, religious and community organizations who contributed and participated in the event.

Other congratulatory telegrams from various institutions of the Syriac people at home and abroad were also read.

After that, a raffle for the lottery prizes was organized and the names of the winners were announced.

The celebration concluded with distributing sweets to the attendees, and performing national songs by artist Walter Aziz.

The celebration was broadcast live by Iraqi TV channels and Suroyo TV.
