BETH NAHRIN — On Friday, in the wake of the Turkish drone assassination of Sutoro martyr Ibrahim Bassam Mikhail, the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d’Bethnahrin, MUB) issued a public statement strongly condemning the aggressive Turkish attacks and targeting of Gozarto (Jazira) Region, in North and East Syria.
The MUB stressed that the Turkish occupation commits crimes against the peoples of the Middle East, especially North and East Syria, on a nearly daily basis. These attacks aim to undermine democracy and the spirit of coexistence between the various ethic and religious components of the region which has flourished under the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) system, read the statement.
The MUB condemned the attack that martyred Mikhail and demanded that Russia, the US, and Europe hold Turkey accountable for its crimes.
The MUB concluded its statement by renewing its appeal to the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and other peoples of the region to preserve the status of the martyrs and to walk their path towards freedom and national unity.
